UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY AND UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD SIGN DEAL OF THE CENTURY
The article provides an inside story of the creation of a new commuter rail service that connects three of Utah's largest cities, Brigham City, Ogden and Salt Lake City. Utah Transit Authority's purchase of 175 miles of railroad right-of-way from the Union Pacific Railroad in 2002 for $185 million opened up the possibility for a new commuter rail line from Ogden to Salt Lake City, expected to be ready in 2006.
