HIGH-CAPACITY BALLAST CLEANER LAUNCHED
The article describes the Plasser & Theurer's new RM 95-700 high capacity ballast cleaning machine that has a design that falls somewhere between its existing RM 800/RM 900 and RM 80 series track machines. Some of the advantages the RM 95-700 orders include: a double screening unit that ensures a high working output; the machine is equipped with two sturdy oscillating screens with a total surface area of over 40 sq m; the transfer conveyor belt is taken to the front of the machine to turn 180 deg so that no match wagon is needed for transfer travel; and the machine is equipped with a digital four-channel plotter that records excavation depth, formation cross fall, superelevation of the cleaned track, and twist of the cleaned track.
