EVALUATION METHODS OF ROAD SAFETY
The PIARC Road Safety Committee C13 has concentrated its work during the past four years on five areas including evaluation methods of road safety measures. This task is considered very important because improvement in road safety work, as in any other work, requires learning to take place. Learning is mainly achieved by observing successes and failures in previous efforts to improve road safety. However, if without good methods to evaluate the effect of road safety efforts it is not possible to learn from failures and successes. The development and discussion of various evaluation methods for road safety measures is a very important task for everybody working with road safety. For the covering abstract see ITRD E118727.
