HOT TECHNOLOGY VERSUS CONGESTION : US ENGINEERS WILBUR SMITH ASSOCIATES HAVE WON A MAJOR AWARD FOR A PIONEERING HIGH-OCCUPANCY TOLL (HOT) PROJECT NOW BEING EXTENDED

This article gives an overview of the road pricing system operating on Interstate 15 in San Diego County. The high occupancy tolling (HOT) system, in which single occupant vehicles (SOV) are allowed to use high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes, features the world's first fully dynamic variable toll structure.
