VEHICLE WEIGH-IN-MOTION USING MULTIPLEXED INTERFEROMETRIC SENSORS
In this paper, the authors describe how interferometric fiber optic sensors, and in particular a multiplexed weigh in motion sensor array are appropriate for use when a large number of sensors are required. They also describe the viability of using the standard telecommunications fiber, within existing highway communication system cables, for interrogating sensors over great distances.
