WARNING : PARKING CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR CAR'S HEALTH

Although most people think that their cars are safest when parked, it is quite the opposite. The manager of a specialty auto insurance company states many of their claims are a direct result of the driver's parking choice and offers solutions to parking more safely. This article offers 16 steps a parker can take to shield their car from damage including parallel parking on the street as opposed to a congested parking lot, parking at the end of the row in a lot, allowing enough room for the person you are parking next to, and avoiding compact spaces or parking near large trucks. Because the majority of claims are damage caused by parking decisions, these steps are helpful points in becoming a defensive parker.
