HOUSTON AIRPORT SYSTEM
The Houston Airport System (HAS), which is the sixth largest multi- airport system of its type in the world, services the George Bush Intercontinental, William P. Hobby, and Elington Field airports. Anticipating growth in traffic, HAS is in the process of a $2.6 billion expansion plan to upgrade Intercontinental and Hobby airports. Included in the expansion is a new cargo complex, as the system has become a major cargo distribution hub. Additional plans include terminal reconstruction and a new concourse, a car park expansion, and a new international terminal.
