A HELPING HAND
This article describes a simple, low-cost method for removing snow berms from disabled and elderly residents' driveways that was developed by the city of Post Falls, Idaho. The city places reflective aluminum signs in the yards of those who register for the free service; as crews plow city streets, they remove the berms from homes marked with the signs. The development and costs associated with this municipal maintenance program are detailed.
