DATA BASE SYSTEM FOR SAFE DISPOSAL OF CHEMICAL DISASTER ON EXPRESSWAYS

It happens that trucks loaded with dangerous chemicals turn over on expressways, the load sometimes disperse over the site and it takes long hours for disposal of them, during which the concerned expressways are forced to be closed. When it occurs on a crowded expressway, its effect will become serious in economical loss and sometimes it would pose a social problem. The cause is considered in that it takes a long time to identify the concerned chemicals among various chemical products, to confirm appropriate hazard protection, disposal, or clean-up methods. This study aims to develop a new system to minimize the time for disposal of chemical disasters on expressways. The authors have made up a database on chemical products and their disposal method, and installed it in CD-ROM to deliver to local offices related to expressways and traffic agencies for their PC, and established quick and accurate communication method.
