TAIPEI PUTS ITS FAITH IN RAIL
Bombardier Transportation was successful in winning the electrical and mechanical systems contract for the extension of the Mucha Line in Taipei. The company is posed to use that contract as a springboard to sell its automated light rail technology to other major Asian cities. Advanced cities like Singapore and Seoul along with some heavily populated areas of China are expected to adopt the advanced technology being introduced in Taipei. A brief overview is provided of both the technology and the design of the Taipei Mucha Line.
