INTELLITRAIN IMPROVES LOCO AVAILABILITY AND UTILIZATION
The article discusses the new onboard computer platform and wireless communications that make each locomotive a node on the Internet, providing critical data to a railway operator anytime and anywhere. The system, IntelliTrain, is available for all locomotives regardless of manufacturer, and its development has opened up possibilities for monitoring locomotive health to help manage maintenance and operations.
