ROADSIDE HAZARDS--PROGRESS TOWARDS EVALUATION OF COUNTERMEASURES
A research program to obtain reliable extimates of countermeasure effectiveness based on Canadian data has been initiated. The research is continuing to update these estimates using input from several provinces. This report covers two components of the research program. First, within a logical frameword, estimates of the distribution of lateral departure distance from the road are provided. Secondly, severity of impact with various objects is quantified.
