RESEARCH ON KNOWLEDGE BASED GRADE CROSSING MULTI-PHASE SIGNAL DESIGN THEORY
This paper focuses on multi-phase design theory as applied to traffic signals at grade intersections. It discusses how the knowledge base of an expert system for multi-phase signals enables the signal phase to adopt a more flexible design. The paper also presents an evaluation method for phasing arrangements.
