PRELIMINARY GUIDELINES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF IN-VEHICLE INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR THE DRIVING TOURIST : INFORMATION CONTENT

This paper presents a set of preliminary guidelines for developing an advanced traveler information systems (ATIS) for tourists. Using information obtained from a survey and literature review, the system offers guidelines based on the type of service, destination, and attraction information preferred by tourists.
