INNOVATIVE PROCUREMENT PART OF THE FINNISH INFRA TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM
The paper reviews the new National Technology Program initiated by the National Technology Agency of Finland in January 2001. The purpose of the program is to support development leading to a desired change in infrastructure construction and maintenance. Some of the results expected include: innovative procurements practices for new markets, creation of new business opportunities and international competitiveness; continuing development of new areas of knowledge, scope of business, and new partnerships; implementing information technology into all processes; and development of sustainability guidelines, working methods, products and materials.
