DUMPED CARS AND THE DEPOLLUTION SOLUTION
The EU End of Life Vehicle (ELV) Directive has been introduced to reduce the amount of waste arising from the disposal of vehicles. The Directive will affect car manufacturers, local authorities and scrapyards. The costs of removing, breaking down and disposing of old vehicles and abandoned vehicles exceed the potential value of them as scrap metal. Cars will only be able to be scrapped at authorised treatment facilities. Car manufacturers will be responsible for the cost of the service. The ELV processes conducted by Capital Pounds in Croydon are described. These include fluid removal and removal of recyclable elements prior to crushing.
