STOKE-ON-TRENT CITY COUNCIL EMBRACE UTMC WITH UNIQUE 'FRONT-END' APPROACH
This article summarises 12 months development and integration of non-traffic related software, to create a unique front-end and data management system for traffic management purposes. Key aspects of the development, such as identifying the authority's requirements, the decision making process and the first stages of implementation, are outlined. Compliance with the UTMC initiative helped to pave the way for future requirements and assisted in achieving the required functionality. By embracing UTMC and taking a slightly different design approach, Stoke-on- Trent City Council have demonstrated that a local authority CAN be in full control of their system capability. (A)
