CONCEPTION OF CREATING AN ACCESSIBLE CITY SPACE IN ST PETERSBURG, RUSSIA
This paper describes planning to provide accessible transport for elderly and disabled people in the city of St Petersburg, Russia. Priority districts have been chosen to serve an existing elderly and disabled population, and accessible Metro services combined with special bus services are planned. Around the Metro stations it is proposed to create zones specifically organized for accessibility to public services.
