This article describes the test intersection constructed at the Federal Highway Administration Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center in McLean, Va. The intersection includes traffic signals controllers, and two "roads from nowhere". Smart cars and smart roads could significantly reduce traffic accidents and the smart car/smart road technology is being tested there
