YORK : MANAGING UTMC FOR SUCCESS
This article looks at project management as applied to the Urban Traffic Management and Control (UTMC) system implemented at a demonstrator site in York, U.K. It relates that the project was successfully completed on time and within budget due to three key areas: 1) definition of objectives; 2) creation of the team with the right skills; and, 3) managing the team and project to deliver. The article also discusses lessons learned in implementing the UTMC system in York.
