PREDICTION OF THE SHIP WAKE ON A RESTRICTED WATERWAY. IN: MARINE TECHNOLOGY V
The paper discusses the prediction of ship wake in the propeller plane of an inland navigation vessel. Two important performance data used for the design of the vessel were the hydrodynamic propeller characteristics and vessel resistance curve. The two characteristics were generated independently and they do not take into account the influence of the hull on the propeller. Two coefficients that define these impacts are the coefficient of ship wake and the coefficient of suction. Also considered were the effects of ship draught and velocity of stream in the river. The results were compared with the available experimental data.
