A PRACTICAL METHOD TO CALCULATE PN JUNCTION TEMPERATURE OF POWER DIODES
Power dissipation of a diode is the product of forward voltage drop and the through current. The limit of PN (P type and N type semiconductor materials) junction temperature restrains the load capacity of power diodes. This paper describes a simplified thermal model of diode-heatsink heat dissipation system, explains how computer simulation works, and gives an example of computer simulation.
