COMPARISON OF AMERICAN, BRITISH, FRENCH AND GERMAN STANDARDS FOR FLAME, SMOKE AND TOXICITY OF ELASTOMERIC MATERIALS
This comparison of standards for the American, British, French and German standards for flame, smoke and toxicity of elastomeric materials reviews the basic criteria that exists. Included are design considerations, material classifications as well as measurement systems used. All units on all standards will be converted to metric when applicable. If testing methods are the same, only unit conversion and basic test overview will be needed. The paper creates a chart that demonstrates the level of stringency demanded by each standard.
