FORT LAUDERDALE QUICKLY RISES TO POST-9/11 CUSTOMER SERVICE CHALLENGE
Officials at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, including mangers from Broward County Aviation Department, the airlines, and the Transportation Security Administration, are working together in a unique partnership to improve airport operations in the new security environment. The steps taken in developing this partnership committee are described as a guide for other airports interested in improving communication among airport stakeholders. One of the first benefits from this partnership was improved communication among the airlines and aviation department operational employees. Another initiative has been a customer service training program for front-line employees.
