ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT DURING METRO RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION ESPECIALLY IN HIGHLY POLLUTED AND DENSELY POPULATED CITY
This paper deals with minimization of the negative environmental impacts of railroad construction in the already polluted, densely populated city of Delhi, India. Attention is also given to the city's environmental management system including planning for the route alignment, structures, material used, construction methods, monitoring, and other innovative ideas, with special focus on the Delhi Metro, currently under implementation and construction.
