AN INTERNET-BASED TRANSPORTATION FRAMEWORK THAT INTEGRATES DATA, MODELS, AND USERS
This paper is concerned with the development of an internet-based transportation framework that integrates advanced optimization and simulation models, and spatiotemporal data to be used for a wide range of transportation applications--planning, engineering and operational. The purpose of the system is to streamline existing processes, allows users to leverage each other's resources, and improve the overall quality of service provided by and to users. The functional requirements of the system are discussed and key implementation details are presented focusing on the modeling aspects of the framework.
