TECHNOLOGY TO MEET EPA LOCOMOTIVE EMISSIONS STANDARDS WITHOUT FUEL PENALTIES
The report examines emissions reduction technologies that have the potential to permit Canadian railway diesel locomotives to comply with the emission standards for locomotives and locomotive engines promulgated in 1998 by U.S. EPA. Of particular interest are those technologies and techniques that are currently available or under development to achieve compliance without any increase in fuel consumption to obviate an economic penalty for railway operators.
