SE Asia's major container ports all have expansion plans of one sort or another. Throughputs are rising due to bouyant trade volumes with Europe and the U.S. in particular while new links with Australia and elsewhere are also contributing. The author visited the ports of Hong Kong, Keelung, Kaohsiung, Taichung, Manila and Singapore and reports on their latest facilities and development plans.
