CONSTRUCTION OF HAULROAD FROM THE YUKON RIVER TO PRUDHOE BAY ALASKA

This paper looks at the construction of the state highway extending from the north bank of the Yukon River north to the vincinity of Prudhoe Bay, a distance of some three hundred and sixty miles. The author reviews the problems encountered in constructing this road in the North Country, due to the environment, construction methods as well as the usual contractor-engineer problem
