PROTECTING OUR HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION WORKERS
This article describes the Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) training class of the Colorado Contractors Association (CCA). The TCS class was developed in 1986, and is intended to give participants state-of-the-art knowledge in planning, designing, installing, maintaining, and monitoring traffic control for work zones. The TCS class is cost-effective and easily modifiable to the requirements of other states and to reflect changing specifications, technologies, and contractor needs. Course development, teaching strategies, and the certification process are discussed.
