THE NORDIC PREDICTION METHOD FOR ROAD TRAFFIC NOISE
The Road Traffic Noise Prediction Method is the 3rd version of a joint Nordic method. The method can predict the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound pressure level, L sub(Aeq,24), and the A-weighted maximum sound pressure level with time weighting Fast, L sub(AFmax), when a series of traffic parameters and topographical parameters are known. Subjects discussed in this paper include: the development and implementation of the prediction method; the principles of the prediction method; the change of noise emissions over a 20-year period; future development of noise emissions; and the practical use of the prediction method.
