NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUBLIC AGENCY MEMBERS

In the spring of 1997, a comprehensive and attractive Affiliated Governmental Agency (AGA) membership program was launched by the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). After only 3 years, 92 agencies have joined ITE through the AGA program. AGA membership benefits the agencies as well as individual members. As of April 14, 2000, more than 44 cities, 21 counties, 15 departments of transportation, 10 regional/metropolitan planning organizations, and 2 federal agencies have taken advantage of the program. These include the Federal Highway Administration; Binghamton Metropolitan Transportation Study, New York; City of Phoenix, Arizona; Ventura County, California; City of San Jose, California; Montgomery County, Maryland; City of Salt Lake City, Utah; Missouri Department of Transportation; Gwinnett County, Georgia; and Metropolitan Transportation Commission, California. The Specialty Council for public agency members includes all members with an interest in identifying, developing, and delivering relevant products on management, leadership, organizational, and institutional issues affecting ITE members.
