INTERPRETATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNS FROM DIGITAL VIDEO IMAGES
This paper describes how optical character recognition can be applied to the interpretation of traffic signs from digital video images. Probabilistic neural networks and fuzzy logic are used for developing isolation recognition. The potential for applying this system for assisting drivers and for guidance and control of autonomous vehicles on highways is discussed.
