IMPLEMENTATION EXPERIENCE OF A NEW PAVEMENT DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT GUIDE
A new Pavement Design and Management Guide, produced under the auspices of the Transportation Association of Canada, provides an up-to-date, comprehensive consolidation of knowledge and technology within a systematic, organized framework. The Guide is intended to serve the needs of engineers and technologists in public agencies, industry, academia and consulting. This paper provides implementation experience for the Guide and summarizes the major chapters: (1) introduction; (2) acquiring and processing data; (3) maintenance and rehabilitation treatments; (4) priority programming; (5) pavement materials; (6) structural design and economic evaluation; (7) role of construction; (8) role of maintenance; (9) implementation guidelines, and (10) issues, opportunities and future prospects.
