REDUCTION OF THE CAR-COMMUTING DISTANCE BY INCREASING THE COMMUTE-TRIP-TIME IN TRANSFO-BUFFERS
BEPERKING VAN DE AUTO-WOONWERKAFSTAND DOOR VERHOGING VAN DE AUTO-WOONWERKREISTIJD IN TRANSFO-BUFFERS
In the Netherlands, the car-commuting distance is growing with 1.4% per year. Reduction is needed to save the environment, because the car mobility growth rate is more than 5% per 10 years by the commuting distance growth alone. This can, for instance, be done by increasing the commute-trip-time in transfo-buffers on the on-ramps. Congestion can then be prohibited on the motorways by the resulting peak demand spreading of commuters. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD E203386.
