THE BERLIN LOCAL TRANSPORT COMPANY (BVG)--A PART OF BERLIN
Berlin, Germany, is a fast-moving city, both in its pace of development and also because of its dense and well-functioning public local transit network. Public transport has been in existence in Berlin for more than 150 years. And, for almost 70 years, buses, trams, and underground trains have been combined in a single company, the Berlin Local Transport Company (BVG). This paper provides an overview of the BVG including its history, structure, customer orientation, and recent developments.
