PAVEMENT MARKING MARKET DRAWS ATTENTION
As pavement markings play an increasingly larger role in traffic safety, and as increased emphasis is placed on keeping workers safer by keeping them off the roads and out of the way of traffic, manufacturers are looking to new approaches to pavement markings. This article examines 2 new and different methods for pavement marking recently introduced at the 30th Annual American Traffic Safety Services Association Traffic Expo: the first relies on a fairly simple attachment to a standard thermoplastic applicator to produce "inverted profiles" into the thermoplastic marking, and the second involves a more complex process that essentially creates an inlaid stripe in concrete pavement.
