CONSOLIDATION: A SLICE OF CARRIERS' LOGISTICS PIE
While ocean carriers have let most less-that-containerload shipments slip into the hands of non-vessel-operating (NVO) common carriers, they still control sizable consolidated freight volumes through in-house transportation logistics services. The article discusses how ocean carriers, truckers and express carriers all mix ocean freight consolidation services with other types of shipper services.
