ROB WHO?
The nation's coastwise, inland waterway and domestic offshore carriers and their shipper customers hope that five year's of contentious debate over the Jones Act is now history and that maybe the two sides can cooperate peacefully. The article provides background on the debate and examines the expected gains in productivity. The formula for success consists of identifying the cargo to be shipped; then working in partnership with the shipper to develop logistics response to the cargo shipping need, whether it be in new ships, new systems, or new solutions.
