This paper examines the future of exporting grain from Western Canada. The first section addresses the macroeconomic policy changes that are restructuring the agricultural economy of the prairies, and the resulting transition of the supply chain. This is followed by a description of technological changes that will affect the logistics of grain marketing. In the final section, some predictions are made regarding the logistics of exporting grain in the year 2010.
