PHONES, DEVICES IN CARS PROBED : DRIVING DISTRACTIONS A GROWING CONCERN

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is in a fact-gathering stage of a study on the risks of using cell phones Internet devices and other electronic distractions while driving. A research project will begin in fall 2000. NHTSA has set up a Web site www.driverdistraction.org, for public comment
