AIRPORT CHARGES COMPARISONS AND PERFORMANCE BENCHMARKING
TRL's move into the field of aviation economics over the past two years has been partly achieved through the acquisition and development of two well-established reference titles, Review of Airport Charges and Airport Performance Indicators. These are both intended to achieve various purposes for different users: (1) They assist airports in understanding how well their businesses are performing, and how well they are serving their customer; (2) They assist airlines in gauging the value for money which they receive on the various fees which they are charged for using airports; (3) They are also used by financial analysts, governments and regulators to gain an undertanding of the returns being achieved by airport stakeholders, whether in the public or private sector, and to gain an assurance that international obligations are being met. This article examines the issues covered by the two publications. (A) For the covering abstract see ITRD E105699.
