PLANNING TRANSIT SERVICES TO SUPPORT "WORK FIRST NEW JERSEY)
In response to federal welfare reform, the 21 counties in the State of New Jersey are in the process of developing plans for more coordinated and integrated local and regional transportation services. The focus of this planning effort is to develop services that address the transportation needs created by Work First New Jersey (WFNJ), the state's welfare reform initiative. At the same time, the services developed to support the WFNJ program should also provide for improved transportation for other employment needs as well as improved local and regional transportation.
