NATIONWIDE, MULTIMODAL INNOVATIVE FARE COLLECTION AND TRANSIT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM USES ADVANCED SMART CARDS AND SMART MODULES
A new, innovative system has been developed to meet transportation requirements of a whole nation across the whole country of Israel. The system has been designed to be seamless and multimodal, enabling the most efficient services across the country and aboard different transit companies, using different transportation means. The system is innovative not only due to the above mentioned features but also due to its unique technology. The system is an advanced fare collection and data processing system for the management of public transit services. It features open system architecture and offers highly secured financial transactions. The paper describes the system's core functions; the integrated advanced smart card technology; and the management of all operating modes.
