BRUSHING UP ON WEED CONTROL
Railroads have always had to deal with clearing weeds and brush from yards, ballast and rights of way. As technology and business practices evolve, railroads have an increasing number of clearing options, ranging from spray trains to off-track buckets and chippers to hi-rail boom-mountable mower heads with variations of each. This article discusses the ways contractors, manufacturers and railroads team up to manage weeds and brush while taking advantage of the technological advances.
