THE CHALLENGES IN MEETING THE FEDERAL BETWEEN-CAR BARRIER REQUIREMENTS
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires that protection be required to prevent passengers on high level station platforms from entering the space between coupled rapid transit, light rail, and commuter rail vehicles. This paper explores what has been accomplished to date, and what needs to be undertaken to ensure compliance for all operating agencies.
