DOING BUSINESS ON THE WEB:E-COMMERCE OPENS UP SAVINGS POSSIBILITIES
This article examines the growth in and benefits of Internet-based, business-to-business commerce (or E-commerce) for road industry contractors and agencies in locating low-cost suppliers. Transportation engineers and managers are continuously using the Internet more and more to search for materials and equipment, as well as services. The advantages of increased communication by means of E-commerce are described.
