TRY NOT TO GET SEPARATED

The asphalt paver industry is on a crusade to end segregation. There are two types of segregation: aggregate and thermal. With the advancement of Superpave, the separation of aggregate is becoming more prominent. Material transfer vehicles, machines that reblend the mix as it leaves the truck and enters the asphalt paver, have been the popular choice for a possible solution. But despite the recent favoritism, there is no guarantee the material transfer vehicle will survive the constant boom of innovation. An integrated paver could be a possible replacement in the near future. This article examines some of the top asphalt pavers in the market. They include the Roadtec SP-100B Stealth paver, Caterpillar's AP-900B and BG-240-C wheeled asphalt pavers, Global Asphalt Products Pro-Pav Series Swiftrac 1110RT asphalt paver, the wheel-mounted PF-2181 and PF-4410 asphalt pavers/finishers from Blaw-Knox Construction Equipment, Gilcrest Equipment's ProPaver 814 MPC, and Dynapac's paver line made up of the F 30 4W, F 25-4W, F 25-C, and F 30C.
