A NEW CONCEPT FOR LOCATION MARKERS TO IMPROVE INCIDENT MANAGEMENT
This paper deals with a study directed to shortening the time interval in which emergency services are warned via the incident rooms immediately after an incident has occurred on the Dutch arterial road system. While currently most reports of incidents are made by cellular phone or highway emergency telephone, elements appear in this phase that can conspire to impede rapid response. The study provides a preferred design for location marking which is better adapted to incident management.
