ROAD TRAFFIC NOISE IN HYDERABAD CITY
Road traffic noise is one of the major environmental problems in the urban areas of Pakistan. A traffic noise survey has been conducted at four sites (residential and commercial areas) on the busy roads of Hyderabad city. The results of the survey show that the traffic noise levels in Hyderabad city are alarmingly high. The high level peaks are due to auto rickshaws and pressure horns. The average peak (L sub 10) values in Hyderabad city exceed 90 dB(A). This is far higher than the International Standards Organization (ISO) and other national standards.
